Backend Developer (RoR) - MOVU team

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Backend Developer (RoR) with strong skills and proven experience who is ready to dive into a young and vibrant Swiss company, for a full-time engagement, here in our Belgrade office. MOVU is the leading relocation platform in Switzerland and one of the most successful digital start-ups of the last few years. Being part of the Baloise Assurance, MOVU has a strong parent company which ensures the growth strategy for the coming years. Our main office location is Zurich and we have a software development center in Belgrade.

AS OUR BACKEND ENGINEER YOU WILL:

• Develop and maintain a scalable, world-class Ruby on Rails platform, the core of our system at MOVU
• Work together with an excellent team of Product Owners, Backend, Frontend and QA engineers on shipping high-quality code in record time
• Contribute to the overall architecture of the system
• Have the opportunity to use and extend custom ruby gems we’ve built, and build new ones yourself

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in building scalable web applications (preferably Ruby on Rails)
• Deep understanding of modern MVC frameworks
• Deep understanding of Ruby language (or similar BE technology)
• Deep understanding of JSON and XML data structures
• Strong sense of ownership and drive
• You are eager to learn and solve problems
• Experience working with version control systems (Git)

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with designing and implementing REST-full APIs
• Experience with custom Gem implementation and distribution
• Experience working on a large scale web applications
• Experience working with search engines (preferably Elastic)
• Experience with REST API integration
• Experience working in agile teams (SCRUM experience)
