Experienced

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a project for one of our Swiss clients in the alternative investment sector, for a full-time engagement.

Our client develops a platform that helps investors discover, subscribe to, and manage alternative investments. The product includes an investor web portal, an internal admin panel, and iOS and Android applications.

You will join a small product team and take ownership of building end-to-end automation from the ground up, while establishing QA practices across the delivery process. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with a high level of autonomy.

What awaits you:

  • Build and maintain an end-to-end automation framework for the investor portal and admin panel.
  • Recommend a browser automation framework based on the platform’s needs.
  • Develop API and contract tests, including backwards-compatibility checks for existing mobile app versions.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD and keep the suite stable, reliable, and easy to maintain.
  • Add stable test identifiers to the React frontend through reviewed pull requests.
  • Perform exploratory testing across web applications and manual regression testing on iOS and Android.
  • Define test strategies, regression checklists, bug-reporting standards, and release-readiness checks.
  • Collaborate directly with the client’s developers and external mobile development partner.
  • Work with approved AI-assisted tools and contribute to QA workflows for test generation and failure analysis.

Web and API automation will be the main focus. Manual mobile and exploratory testing will account for approximately one-third of the role.

What we expect from you:

  • At least 5 years of experience in QA automation.
  • At least 3 years of ownership of a browser-based E2E suite, from initial implementation through reliable use in CI.
  • Strong hands-on experience with a modern browser automation framework, such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Enough Python knowledge to read a Django codebase and understand API behaviour.
  • Experience with API testing, OpenAPI schemas, and backwards-compatibility checks.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines; Jenkins experience is a plus.
  • Practical experience manually testing native applications on real iOS and Android devices.
  • Strong exploratory testing skills and the ability to document clear, reproducible bugs.
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools and the ability to critically review generated tests.
  • A proactive approach, strong ownership, and the ability to prioritise independently.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in fintech, financial services, KYC/AML, or investment platforms.
  • Familiarity with React and frontend test instrumentation.
  • Consumer-driven contract testing.
  • Mobile automation experience with Appium, Detox, Maestro, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with an external development vendor.
  • Knowledge of accessibility testing fundamentals.

Why you will love working here:

  • Ownership of QA automation from the first framework decisions through to release validation.
  • A collaborative international environment with direct access to the people building the product.
  • The opportunity to shape testing practices and make a visible impact on product quality.
  • An engineering team that actively uses AI-assisted tools.
  • A varied technical environment spanning React, Django, APIs, and mobile applications.
