We at Holycode are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Software Engineer to work full-time on the Swiss table reservation system Foratable.
 
Foratable, run and developed by the Swiss company Lunchgate AG, is a revolutionary reservation system that changes the way restaurants manage, market, and sell their capacity to enhance guest experiences.  As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will join an international team of software engineers to create the next-generation platform, implement new features, and enhance the product. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact platform and product development. Join the team behind Foratable as they scale up!

Responsibilities:
  • Build new features with the product team (PHP 8 or Java)
  • Maintain and improve existing functionality (PHP 8)
  • Write unit tests and functional tests for added functionality
  • Support the design and implementation of architectural principles
  • Closely interact with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers
Requirements and skills:
  • Masters degree and 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms, and data types
  • Experience with service oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing
  • Passion for teamwork, code quality, and agile techniques (CI/CD, automated testing, trunk based development)
  • Good understanding of Functional Programming, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
  • Experience with Java (Spring)
  • Experience with a language like Haskell, Scala, or Rust is a plus
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English
